Introducing the Aggroshop
by Will Greenwald

We’re adding a little addition to Aggrogate. If you’d like to help support this site, please visit the new Aggroshop, linked above and on the right side of the site. It’s an Amazon affiliate store that lists many of the products we talk about in the From the Game and Cube Warfare sections, along with plenty of video games. It’s just like ordering anything from Amazon, only we get a small percent of it. It doesn’t change the price, shipping, or service you’d usually get from Amazon, it just means a little of it goes to keeping Aggrogate going!

The Aggroshop doesn’t include any Aggrogate merchandise or branded swag, but we’re considering producing some in the future. Let us know if you’d be interested in t-shirts, mugs, or other gear with the Aggrogate dot logo and name on it!

Welcome, Chris Gampat!
by Will Greenwald

You’ve probably seen a few of his posts last week, but it’s time to make Chris’s addition to the team official. I’m happy to announce that Chris Gampat is Aggrogate’s newest contributor/editor!

Chris is a longtime techhead and gamer who has previously contributed to sites like 2D-X. He is a professional photographer and editor-in-chief of The Phoblographer. Whether it’s an Xbox 360′s right trigger or a Canon 1D Mk. IV’s shutter release, you can be sure Chris’s finger will be right there to take the shot.

Welcoming Dee Sawyer!
by Will Greenwald

I’m happy to welcome a new editor to Aggrogate, Dee Sawyer!

Dee Sawyer is a Virginia-based college student, currently majoring in criminal justice. His main concern is having as much fun as possible: movies, music, games, TV, anime, manga, comic books, novels, anything that catches his eye. Currently wasting his life away gloriously, he is pursuing the net slacker life style until classes start up.

His favorite game systems are the PS2, Dreamcast, and the DSi, and his favorite game series is Kingdom Hearts. In his spare time, he enjoy singing, dancing, writing, composing music. He also is a bit of a tech freak and has the newest iterations of most things, including a 360 slim, a PS3 slim, and a PSPgo. He envisions a digital future and avidly supports the PSPgo, the Kindle, the iTouch, PSN, WiiWare, and XBLA because his apartment is cramped enough as is.

Welcome to the team, Dee!

Welcoming Dell Hart to Aggrogate!
by Will Greenwald

I’m happy to announce that Aggrogate now has another contributor. As you might have noticed from the last few posts, Dell Hart is now writing for this site as a contributing editor.

Dell is an entertainment addict who always has to have the new shiny thing, be it a PSPgo to go with the PSP-2000 she already had or the iPad she is desperately trying to come up with some excuse to buy. Dell believes in an all digital future and avidly supports the PSPgo, the Kindle, the iTouch, PSN, WiiWare, and XBLA. Dell wants to have more time to watch all her favorite TV shows and movies, but for a while longer the Navy still owns her. When she had time to game, she’s known as “xoaks” on PSN, Xbox Live, Steam, Raptr, Xfire, and every other gaming service out there.

Welcoming Camille Lake to Aggrogate!
by Will Greenwald

I’m happy to introduce our new contributing editor, Camille Lake! She’s the first official addition to the site’s staff, and I welcome her!

Originally from Philadelphia, Camille Lake is a long-time gaming fan, videophile, and tech head. She is a graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She’s worked as a Video Game Tester for Sega of America, Electronic Arts and 3DO. She has also worked as a Q.A Engineer at both Autodesk and Plumtree Software (now Oracle).

As a student of music she currently takes classes at the San Francisco Community Music Center. She also sings part-time for “Jesse Foster and The Funky Chicken Tacos”, a San Francisco-based Jazz Band.  The band plays frequently at Rasselas Jazz Club, located in San Francisco’s famous Jazz District, The Fillmore. Videos can be found here http://www.youtube.com/crlake and http://www.viddler.com/explore/funkzillabot/. You can find her on Twitter, Tumblr, and other sites under her gamer tag: Funkzillabot (aka: jamBOT).

Want to write for Aggrogate?
by Will Greenwald

Aggrogate is looking for writers! The site is currently a one-man show, but I’d really like to expand it. If you’re interested in writing for Aggrogate, send me an email. It’s great if you have writing clips or a resume, but they’re not necessary. If you have a passion for gaming and want a place to express it, this could be the home for you.

It’s not a paid gig, but it does come with some great benefits. Writers at Aggrogate get their own @aggrogate.com email address. Occasionally we get video games for review, so you might get a free game or two out of the deal (if you can review it). Depending on where you live, you could get invited to gaming events, conventions, and expos. Also, if you live in the New York City area, I’ll buy you a beer (if you’re over 21). Finally, to sweeten the deal just a little bit more, I have a code for one male and two female PAX East hoodies for your Xbox Live avatar. The first three writers to join the site get the codes This isn’t a contest in any way, I just have a spare code card and I’d be happy to share it with any newcomers.

Writing for Aggrogate is a great way for aspiring writers to get started in video game journalism. It’s a great deal for all of us. Aggrogate gets more writers, and you get a byline, an email address, and all the advice you can tolerate. Plus, as we grow, you’ll get a handy little thing called “seniority.” Drop me a line if you’re interested.
