The Fundraiser Hath Run Its Course

Well, we got... two donations. Okay, no big deal, it just means two people will experience the comic genius that is Aggrogate and shitty movies. We'll record the Street Fighter movie Rifftrax over the next 2 weeks, and we'll get the recording out to the donors once everything's edited and ready. After that, we'll put it up on the Rifftrax.com iRiffs marketplace. Thanks to both donors, and keep an eye here for more details!

Donate to Child’s Play, Get a Video Game Movie Rifftrax (Or More!)

It's that time of year again, when everyone turns their minds toward the holiday season and the good folks at Penny Arcade work to raise toys for childrens' hospitals. Yes, Child's Play is in full swing, and Aggrogate is going to take part!

We've set up a ChipIn account so you can donate to Child's Play through our site. Why do we care that you donate through us, and that we can track the numbers? Well, besides bragging rights, they're so we can award your generosity with entertainment! If you donate $5 or more, you'll get a Rifftrax we're going to specially record for the charity. You see, I have a pile of crappy video game movies, and they're just begging to be mocked.

Site News and From the Game Update

Things have been very busy lately, and I've been unable to update and write new content as much as I'd like to. Don't worry, though. Aggrogate is still here! We're also looking for writers. Matt, Dee, and myself are looking for any talented, enthusiastic gamers who would like to try their hand at video game journalism. If you're interested, send me an email.

Now, you might have noticed there's no From the Game today. That's because we have something special planned soon. Something involving a certain plumber's anniversary. Keep an eye here! It's coming soon.

Let the Twitting begin!

Aggrogate has been running the @Aggrogate Twitter account for a while, using it to re-tweet headlines. It's pretty lacking in personality, really just a truncated feed of the site. However, each of Aggrogate's contributors has their own Twitter account you can follow if you want to hear our opinions and news. Even I, a longtime anti-Twitter Luddite, have finally started @AggroWill, my own personal/gaming/editorial Twitter feed. We've had the standard "Follow us on Twitter" button on the sidebar for some time, but now we're adding links to the staff's individual Twitter feeds. Start following, Tweeting, re-Tweeting, and double secret Tweeting to and about us!

Introducing the Aggroshop

We're adding a little addition to Aggrogate. If you'd like to help support this site, please visit the new Aggroshop, linked above and on the right side of the site. It's an Amazon affiliate store that lists many of the products we talk about in the From the Game and Cube Warfare sections, along with plenty of video games. It's just like ordering anything from Amazon, only we get a small percent of it. It doesn't change the price, shipping, or service you'd usually get from Amazon, it just means a little of it goes to keeping Aggrogate going!

The Aggroshop doesn't include any Aggrogate merchandise or branded swag, but we're considering producing some in the future. Let us know if you'd be interested in t-shirts, mugs, or other gear with the Aggrogate dot logo and name on it!

Welcome, Chris Gampat!

You've probably seen a few of his posts last week, but it's time to make Chris's addition to the team official. I'm happy to announce that Chris Gampat is Aggrogate's newest contributor/editor!

Chris is a longtime techhead and gamer who has previously contributed to sites like 2D-X. He is a professional photographer and editor-in-chief of The Phoblographer. Whether it's an Xbox 360's right trigger or a Canon 1D Mk. IV's shutter release, you can be sure Chris's finger will be right there to take the shot.

Welcoming Dee Sawyer!

I'm happy to welcome a new editor to Aggrogate, Dee Sawyer!

Dee Sawyer is a Virginia-based college student, currently majoring in criminal justice. His main concern is having as much fun as possible: movies, music, games, TV, anime, manga, comic books, novels, anything that catches his eye. Currently wasting his life away gloriously, he is pursuing the net slacker life style until classes start up.

His favorite game systems are the PS2, Dreamcast, and the DSi, and his favorite game series is Kingdom Hearts. In his spare time, he enjoy singing, dancing, writing, composing music. He also is a bit of a tech freak and has the newest iterations of most things, including a 360 slim, a PS3 slim, and a PSPgo. He envisions a digital future and avidly supports the PSPgo, the Kindle, the iTouch, PSN, WiiWare, and XBLA because his apartment is cramped enough as is.

Welcome to the team, Dee!
