Mega Bloks might have long been the ugly step-sister of Lego, but that doesn’t mean it’s not working on some great things. After big success with the Halo Mega Bloks series, they’re expanding to World of Warcraft. Yes, you can finally get your epic T12 ret specced pally grinding on. I used those terms right, right? I haven’t played since Burning crusade.
Mega Bloks wouldn’t allow up-close photography of its individual sets at Toy Fair, but I could shoot its huge diorama and get some great details in the still unfinalized sets. There’s Horde, there’s Alliance, there’s castles and yurts, there’s mounts and gear, and there’s even a goblin zeppelin. There’s even Stormwind getting attacked by freaking Deathwing.
Like the Halo figures, the World of Warcraft figures will have interchangeable weapons and armor, so you can set up your own character with your equipment of choice. There are also flying and land mounts and orc and human fortresses you can protect or attack. Mega Bloks is looking at over a dozen World of Warcraft sets to start with, ranging from character starters to huge dioramas, priced from $8 to over $100.
