Is my point too subtle? I hope it’s not too subtle. It should be pretty clear that any legislation that penalizes alleged “copyright infringers” heavily without offering any recourse for those accused is wrong and unamerican. And it should be clear that laws like SOPA, Protect-IP, and any other law that claims to fight piracy by enacting harsh laws against all accused of copyright infringement benefit no one.
