According to Kotaku, Sony has officially announced the HD remakes of Team ICO’s classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus for PS3. Further details are unclear at this point. Originally thought to be released as a compilation, the games are listed separately in Famitsu. There’s also no release date yet, so sit tight. While Famitsu lists them as individual titles, they might still see a compilation release in the US.
This isn’t the first time a PS2 classic has gotten a high-def remake. The God of War: Collection brought the first two God of War games together on a single Blu-ray Disc late last year, and The Sly Collection
will compile the first three Sly Cooper games together in November of this year. While they didn’t introduce high-definition graphics to the games, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
and the Resident Evil remake for GameCube
respectively brought Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil, two classic Playstation games, into the previous console generation with updated graphics.
