Mistwalker Studios has recently release a trailer for their up and coming game, The Last Story. I have to say, for a Nintendo Wii title, this game looks really good. However, the game mechanics sound a bit weird. Instead of the traditional turn-based RPG, Mistwalker opted for real-time combat with use of a cover system. Hmmm, ok. It sounds a bit more like Mass Effect, than a classic JRPG.

It’s best to give this unique battle system a chance. Not read too much into it, and wait until the game actually comes out first, before making  a judgment call positive or negative. I always like to give a new IP’s a chance to surprise me. Hopefully, in this case, it will be a good surprise.
